What to Expect

When you come to COS, you’ll be welcomed into a community eager to meet with God together.

Our worship weaves hymns and contemporary songs, all meant to lift our eyes to Christ. After singing and prayer, we open God’s Word and walk through books of the Bible, seeking to see His greatness and let His truth reshape our lives.

Each week, children 5th grade and under are welcomed into safe, Christ-centered classes where they are taught God’s Word in ways that are engaging and full of joy.

  • How long is a typical service?

    The service, including worship and teaching, lasts about an hour and 15 minutes - you are welcome to stay after to meet the pastors and other members of our community.

  • What can I expect from the sermons?

    The sermons last around 45 minutes. Each sermon strives to faithfully explain what a passage of the Bible means and how it applies to our everyday lives.

  • What type of music do you sing?

    Our music draws from both historic hymns and contemporary songs. We are less concerned with style or genre than with ensuring that what we sing is rooted in Scripture, theologically sound, and accessible for the whole congregation. Instruments provide accompaniment, but our greatest joy is found in the unified voices of God’s people singing together.

  • What should I wear?

    You’ll see some in jeans and a t-shirt and others who prefer to dress more formally. There’s no expectation either way - we simply invite you to come as you are.
